Our #campaignwatch is a collection of the best virtual reality / augmented reality marketing campaigns around the globe. We only pick the best ones forcing the industry to create full virtual experiences for brands. This time it’s Jaguar's Actual Reality campaign.
How the brand benefited from virtual reality in the campaign?
Jaguar created their new Virtual Reality experience for the “Big Boys Toys” expo in New Zealand. They built a custom VR headset into the passenger seat, the user jumped in, and from there… well, just as they promised: some experiences cannot be simulated. An actual driver took over the wheel driving the user onto the tracks. A live camera feed has been channeled into the VR headset and real-life crazy driving pumped up the adrenaline. At the end of the ride came the surprise – most of the people trying Jaguar’s VR were convinced that the car actually never moved!
Why this marketing campaign is important?
Trying out a new car is fun in the virtual reality. Jaguar’s brand message was successfully delivered with an awesome experiment in a really funny way, and they used VR as a great tool in this campaign.
