Our #campaignwatch is a collection of the best virtual reality / augmented reality marketing campaigns around the globe. We only pick the best ones forcing the industry to create full virtual experiences for brands. This time it’s Top Shop's Catwalk Experience campaign.
How the brand benefited from virtual reality in the campaign?
This campaign is older than anything, it's from, hang on, 2014. It's not even a VR campaign, strictly speaking, but a 360° video campaign where users could experience the London Fashion Week 2014 in a panoramic view from the very first rows, right next to the catwalk. The whole "VR" experience took place in Top Shop's flagship store in London.
Why this marketing campaign is important?
Not sure which virtual reality campaign was the very first but Top Shop's experimental project was one of the early ones. It connected the brand with a true fashion experience, using Oculus technology. Long live Top Shop in our Hall of Fame.
